Driver's licence & Additional driver

Driver's licence:- A full licence held for minimum of 1 years with no major endorsements. UK licence holders need to present the photocard. International Driving Permit needed along with original domestic licence. Additional driver:- Additional drivers can be added to your rental for a charge of 50 NOK per day. (Excludes tax). Please pay for additional drivers at the rental desk when picking up your vehicle.

Young driver's age: 18 to 24 years. Charge 125 NOK per day. Maximum 1,000 NOK. Includes 25% tax

Customers who fall outside the age limitations will not be able to hire a car unless there is a young or senior driver fee specified in this section. Please note that if applicable, this fee will be included in the rental price and will be payable on arrival at the rental desk in the local currency.

Travel Restrictions

Written permission is required for driving an alamo vehicle outside Norway. Alamo Norway vehicles can be driven only to Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Portugal, San Marino, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and United Kingdom. Regarding one-way rentals, please check the rental agent's one-way policy. Alamo Norway kindly reminds that violation of above restrictions makes our insurance terms void/invalid. In such cases, the total responsibility of any damages caused to/by the rented vehicle passes over to the renter.

An additional fee in the amount of NOK 250.00 (including tax) per day with a maximum of NOK 2500.00 per rental will apply. This fee does not apply on one-way rentals.

Cross border fee does not apply for rentals to Denmark & Sweden. A penalty fee of NOK 10.000 will apply in case the car is driven abroad without prior permission from the rental office.

Taxes and charges

Airport fee

Fee for pick-up at an airport location. Included in the total price of your rental but may be payable at the rental counter. You may need to pay an airport fee on top of optional extras purchased at the counter.

Breakdown assistance

Breakdown assistance is included with this car. In case of emergency during business hours, call the number provided by your car hire supplier and they will send help. Assistance outside of business hours may incur an extra charge. Please note that this only covers mechanical failure.

Unlimited mileage

Unlimited mileage with this rental means you can drive as much as you want, with no additional charges for extra kilometres.

Collision damage waiver (CDW)

Often referred to as CDW, this partially covers damages incurred to your vehicle. Please note that you will still be liable for insurance excess (see: Not Included section below). CDW does not cover damage or loss of keys, tyres, glass or undercarriage.

Theft waiver (TW)

This covers costs relating to the theft or attempted theft of the rental vehicle but does not cover the loss of personal possessions. Please note that you will still be liable for insurance excess (see below).

Third party liability protection (TP)

This covers damage sustained to another driver’s car in the event of an accident caused by you.
